UNDERSTANDING SEXUAL SPIRITS

There are many wicked spirits controlled by Satan that have been released in our world today. Amongst them, the only spirit that fights with the anointing upon a man or woman of God’s life and often prevail is sexual spirits.
Satan has many arsenals under his sleeves which he may use to disarm a man or woman of God and strip them of the anointing God Has placed upon their life. Often, he may use the sprit of pride, narcissism, covetousness, strife or division, but his most powerful weapon is sexual spirits.
Through out the Bible, the only spirit that contends with God’s anointing and often prevail is a sexual spirit.
Consider King David, an anointed man of God, who had the strength to kill ten thousand Philistines (1 Samuel 18:7). He had the strength to kill a lion and a bear (1 Samuel 17:34-36). He killed a giant called Goliath who terrorized an entire army until David silenced him, cutting his head with his own sword (1 Samuel 17). Nevertheless, when Satan wanted to destroy David, he used his favorite secret weapon (seductive sexual spirit). Through the lust of the eyes, David’s physical strength was weakened, and Satan lurked him and led him into committing adultery with Bathsheba the wife of a man called Uriah (2 Samuel 11).
Consider Samson, here is a man who killed a lion with his bear hands (Judges 14:5). The Bible also records that he also used ajawbone of a donkey to kill a thousand Philistine soldiers (Judges 15:25). Samson was able to kill a thousand Philistines by himself but was brought to his knees by a seductive sexual spirit inside of a woman called Delilah (Judges chapter 16).
Every Christian has been given the full armor of God to combat the spirit of wickedness in higher places according to Ephesians 6:10-18. But when it comes to sexual spirits, God does not encourage his children to stand and fight, He gives them one specific instruction and that is to flee. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:18,
“Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body”.
The word flee means: To run hastily or abruptly from imminent danger or evil.
God in His infinite wisdom understands that sexual spirits are not to be taken lightly. He simply warned us to flee.
Consider Lot and his family who were instructed to leave the city of Sodom and Gomorrah since it was filled with sexual sins. Godgave them one specific instruction and that is to flee for their lives and never to look back (Genesis 19:17).
Every battle you will encounter in your Christian walk, God will encourage you to face it with the help of His Holy Spirit. But when it comes to sexual spirits, God doesn’t encourage you to stand and fight. He simply says to flee. Why? Because it has brought many great men and women down, demolishing their reputation as well as the reputation of God Himself.
Satan often uses sexual spirits to defeat those who possess the most threat against his kingdom. When he cannot destroy you through other means, he will use a sexual spirit by influencing a person to seduce you or by using inappropriate sexual content on the internet or television as his final tool to lurk you into sinning against your body which is the temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:18-19).
Once you fall victim to sexual sins, you open yourself for unclean spirits to enter your body. Once this happens there is only two things you can do,
1. Repent, turn away from your sin and don’t repeat it.
2. Seek an anointed person who has been called into the ministry of deliverance to command the spirit to come out of you just as Jesus did in Luke 4:36. (If you are in a leadership position in a church, the enemy may use fear tactics such as fear of embarrassment, fear of loosing your position as a means to trap you or hinder you from getting delivered).
When the above suggestions are neglected, the unclean sexual spirit will reside in your body permanently referring to your body as its home (Matthew 12:43-45). Until it’s evicted or castout, you will relapse back and forth with sexual sins, you may repent today, but will fall right back into the same sin and experience greater struggle with sexual lust in your Christian walk.
